In late September, our neighbor and friend, Alain drove us down to Prizer Point to start our second segment in earnest. Pete and Alain took the boat from Prizer Point and headed over to Eddycreek Marina while Cheri drove Alain’s car to the marina. After finally experiencing a different marina on our boat, Alain headed back to Centerville as we were heading downstream to Green Turtle Bay. We ran into loopers right off the bat in GTB and were so happy. We were invited by fellow Ohioans to Docktails by Dani and Bob on their boat/Fern. We had fun biking around GTB and exploring a familiar area before departing for adventures and places unknown.
We crossed over from Lake Barkley to the Tennessee River via a canal that connects the two at the top of the Land Between the Lakes. On the Tennessee, we’re heading back upstream and fighting the current although it wasn’t too bad. We stopped at Birdsong Marina which is known for its fresh water pearl farm – in Camden, Tennessee! And then we headed to Clifton, Tennessee where we met up with 3 other looper boats. A fun night was had doing karaoke. To get a laugh, check out the Clifton Marina & RV Park page on Facebook. If you scroll down to the October 5th date, you can see the crazy loopers all doing karaoke altogether!
We headed down to Pickwick Lake and Aqua Yacht Safe Harbor. Due to someone’s butt disengaging the Port engine lever, we stayed at the marina for almost a week. We managed to still explore by renting a car and visiting the surrounding areas.
Engines still running OK? Is Pete keeping his butt out of the way? Haha?
When will we see you guys again? Dining In on December 9th? Hope so!
