CHATTANOOGA VISIT

When we arrived we docked at Cameron Marina with Skip and Lisa. We had fun spending time and eating with them at Scottie’s Restaurant which was located right above where we were docked and overlooked the river. After visiting Ginger and Dave, we returned and said goodbye to our friends and headed over to The Bluff’s Marina where we met Little Red Fox and Soul Mate before they departed. We headed over for a pump-out and diesel and then settled in for the night.

On Wednesday, we explored the very cool Tennessee Aquarium which is rated among one of America’s best! And it did not disappoint! It consists of 2 separate buildings; one building called River Journey has Fresh Water Wildlife and Fish exhibits and the second building Ocean Journey has Salt Water Wildlife and Fish exhibits. Each building was very unique and explained a lot about the local area and its development. After the aquarium visit, we ate at Agave and Rye. Very unique restaurant and one had just been built in Centerville. We even met the District Manager who had overseen the Centerville restaurant as it was being built and he knew exactly where we were from. Small World!

Chattanooga is such a great town to explore as it has a free bus service that can take you all over the city. Thursday we headed out to visit the Chattanooga Choo Choo and then took the bus over to the Incline Railway which takes you up to the top of the city where we walked around and explored the area where “The Battle Above the Clouds” took place. We then headed back to the beautiful old Train Station and explored and revisited an era of days gone by. We finished the day with an afternoon coffee at The Frothy Monkey and a delicious dinner at The Stir!
