Traveling north on the East Cast of Florida has been fun as we have had the opportunity to connect with family and friends. Our first connection was in North Palm Beach with John and Joan Wolf. They graciously took us out to dinner one night and picked us up and took us to their home for a homemade dinner and cards! It was interesting as we have been sailboaters for years, and John and Joan were looking for us on our sailboat not our Motorboat!!

Since Marlin Bay in the Keys, we’ve been pretty much on our own or met a couple here or there, but Ft. Pierce was teeming with loopers who were either staying long term or stopping on their way north. Monday was Docktails Night and what fun we had! We met up with Louis and Isabelle who we hadn’t seen since we came down the Tenn-Tom River together. We met some new Gold Loopers who had just crossed their wake and some iconic Loopers we’ve read about in the daily AGLCA forum. Livin the Dash came in a few days later as well as Ripple so we had fun connecting with them as well.

Onward to Melbourne where we met up with Mike and Pam from Thyme Away and Iconic Charlie and Robin from The Lower Place who were our Virtual Mentors during Covid Times. Continuing north we met up with my cousin Ron and his wife Karen in New Smyrna. We had such a fun day with them – sharing our boat with them, seeing their beautiful new house, going to some of their favorite spots for food and refreshments. Karen makes some unique healthy drinks and shared them with Cheri! Yum! Then we headed to Halifax Harbor Marina. This was a very special place as Pete and I met over 51 years ago at the apartments next to the marina. We rode our bikes over and captured a photo of Pete in front of his original apartment. We sat on a bench and had fun reminiscing about our special connection that had brought us full circle to this point. We had fun riding around in our dinghy and that night we connected with Ripple and Lady Gov for dinner.
