Our boat is 42′ long but add the Dinghy into the equation and our total length overall is 46′. The dinghy is about 11 feet long and we haul it around on the back of our boat. The dinghy rests on a Freedom Lift which uses hydraulics to lower or raise it into or out of the water. There are lots of steps on the boat and in Cheri’s defense, they are quite big! We have to take 5 big steps to get on the boat that takes us up to the Fly Bridge where the helm is located. From there we take 5 big steps down to the main salon. Then we take 3 big steps to get down to either Stateroom. We have 2 Staterooms with queen size beds that are located forward and aft. We’d love to have people join us on this amazing adventure, but we also really don’t want to listen to anyone snoring all night long either. That’s why we chose this configuration with the separation in rooms! LOL There’s also a pull out couch in the main salon. Each stateroom has its own bathroom and full separate shower. We have VacuFlush toilets that work by pushing a pedal down for about 4 seconds. The contents are powerfully pulled into a holding tank. When the tanks get full, we go to the Fuel Dock and have them pumped out. Waste is not dumped into the lakes, rivers, or oceans. The main salon consists of a nice size couch, an eating area, and a small galley. The galley has a 2 burner stove top, a convection/microwave, and a small sized refrigerator/freezer. The freezer is NOT an Auto defrost and doesn’t make ice cubes! š We have a sink but no automatic dishwasher! š But – we do have a Splendide Washer/Dryer onboard. We do have air conditioning/heat all over the boat. We drive the boat from the Fly Bridge or what is referred to as The Helm! .
Love to hear all about your boat-I am learning āboat lingoā a little bit!!! Haha Your home away from home sounds pretty darn nice!!! Enjoy every minute and stay safe!!
Love hearing all about the trip and being able to follow you!
Have you used the convection oven yet? And! Having washer and dryer on board! Sweet!
May God protect you on your trip!
Hi Gloria, I’ve used the Convection oven probably twice. We do go out to eat a lot and I usually microwave. Not much baking!
Boatās a beauty! Have you named her? The washer/dryer seems like a must-have itemāgood call. Nice to see your bikes racked to the bow railsāa great option for exercise and expanding your exploration of each port. With regards to the dinghy, how often are you anchoring/mooring vs docking at a marina?
Spring Flingā¦ right. LOL. My bad.
The name will be a whole other post at some point. Basically, we met on Spring Break. Being the preschool teacher that taught rhyming – Spring Fling!
We’re still getting our feet wet so truly anchored once for lunch! Learning that anchoring is a must in the rivers, so will be learning fast. If you would like more info or just be entertained, there is a couple on You Tube called Scho and Jo. They have a You tube video of their Great Loop Adventures that you might enjoy. I plan to talk about anchoring and more eventually – ha probably when we anchor.
Thanks. I needed that.
